Bio

Rosie took her first yoga class in Coconut Grove, Florida at the age of 14. Her instructor was Eve Diskin-then the Director of the American Institute of Yoga. Following her training from Ms. Diskin, Rosie started teaching the lower school students as part of her own high school curriculum.

During college and for a short time after, Rosie concentrated on her ballet studies, incorporating her yogic knowledge into her ballet exercises. Finding herself on bed-rest during two pregnancies, Rosie resumed her practice in a new way- learning the restorative and healing aspects of yoga.

For the next ten years, she began an intense practice incorporating Bikram and The Barkan Method under the guidance of Jimmy Barkan in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

More recently, Rosie has expanded her teachings to include addiction and trauma based yoga. She obtained her certification as a Leader for Y12SR. Y12SR "connects the dots" between the ancient wisdom of yoga, the practical tools of 12-step programs, and the latest research on trauma healing and neurobiology. As part of a holistic recovery program, it works in tandem with traditional treatment to address the physical, mental and spiritual disease of addiction. Please see more at www.y12sr.com.

Rosie is certified in Pre-natal yoga, Vinyasa Flow yoga, Y12sr, and has her 500-hour EYT from Yoga Alliance.
